Clad Nine & Nairobi Wear

Clad Nine & Nairobi Wear's Spring 2011 designs will be out in the next few weeks. For those who don't know about us, get familiar.

Founded in 2007, Clad Nine & Nairobi Wear are the only monogram art driven clothing brands in the market right now. The brands are positioned to appeal to individuals who appreciate unique lettering art, monograms, typography, and calligraphy.

Just like the founders, individuals we market to despite everyday challenges, have chosen to pursue their dream(s). That's why we make it our mission every season, our collections feature designs that serve as a statement meant to "Inspire & Empower you to stay true to your dream(s), without compromising your integrity"

We have set ourselves apart from the other brands by strictly using monograms art in our designs. Ever since he was a young boy, one of the founders has always been fascinated by "handwriting" and the art behind it. Calligraphy & Monograms.

Monograms have a rich sense of history and they were originally used as a royal signature. Romans and Greeks used them on coins to identify their rulers. Then, in the Middle Ages, artisans began to use them to sign their work. Victorian-period high-class persons adapted the monogram for personal use as a symbol of their place in society.

Today, Clad Nine & Nairobi Wear bring you the best Monogram art that artistically adorn every price of garment manufactured under these labels. The same procedure of paying attention to detail and bringing out the best quality in each piece is what we specialize in.

Diddy- Dirty Money Robbed!

Discuss on ooVoo

Diddy-Dirty Money made their worldwide television debut last night on ‘American Idol’ closing the show with a rousing performance of their new single “Hello, Good Morning” from their highly anticipated album Last Train to Paris in stores on June 22nd.
The Danja produced single quickly catapulted into the top ten of the iTunes single sales charts within a few short hours of the strobe-lit, heart-stopping performance.
“Hello, Good Morning” features rapper T.I. and infectious vocals from Sean “Diddy” Combs, Dawn Richard, and Kalenna Harper. Grammy-Award winning songwriter Rico Love co-wrote the single. Diddy describes Last Train to Paris as, “emotional, provocative, limitless music you can sink your teeth into.”
Combs, who has sold 75 million albums worldwide, has teamed up with singer/songwriters Dawn and Kalenna to create the new super-group Diddy-Dirty Money. Together, this musical trio infused with formidable singing, songwriting, and production talent create a new sound: ‘Train Music,’ an electro-hip hop soul funk experience.

Their debut CD, which is the embodiment of this new sound, reveals an intense love story that defies today’s musical status quo. Guest producers for the album include Rodney Jerkins, Danja, Mario Winans, and D’Mile.

Joining Diddy behind the microphone are singer/songwriters Dawn Richard, a founding member of the platinum-selling girl group Danity Kane, and Kalenna, whose burgeoning songwriting career has led her to work with a long list of music industry luminaries.
“Diddy-Dirty Money is a movement that represents a change in music,” declares Richard. “It’s different from what most people expect. But if they take the chance to listen, they will respect it.”

Known for having his finger on the pulse of what’s next, Combs had a notion that Dawn and Kalenna were kindred spirits when he brought the two together to write songs in 2009.

“All that Hollywood stuff doesn’t work for us,” adds Kalenna. “Dawn and I aren’t background singers simply standing next to Diddy, and Diddy-Dirty Money isn’t just more of the same. It’s an organic group that grew out of a shared passion for music.”

Discuss on ooVoo

Clad Nine & Nairobi Wear- The Official BlogIt's been like forever since we heard something solid- or something at all from Lil Mama. I wonder what happened to her. Clad Nine & Nairobi Wear is always supportive of young achievers- which without doubt she was. But her whole latest MIA thing doesn't cut with us.

Just because you achieve your dream doesn't mean you stop. Now im not suggesting in any way that she quit rapping- im just saying she needs to put new stuff out.

The process of pursuing dreams is a life long commitment- with no breaks. That is why your dreams should be of something you truly enjoy and be constantly in "Search Mode"

Achieving a dream is a process- not a destination. Ok, well I will stop ripping on her, switch subjects: I like the track jacket she's wearing, I bet she would look even nicer with the Nairobi Wear track jacket which is currently outta stock.

I will def hit her up and see if she wants to rock our new collection once it hits the stores. Our Spring/Summer 2011 collection is gonna be bananas y'all. Will keep posted on details.

For now keep working on your dream(s) and never ever give up! Nuff said.

P.S. Im diggin' the gold ensemble- Gold is our color if you haven't figured it out yet. Peace out famo!

Napoleon Hill’s Formula for Success for Achieving Your Goals and Dreams

Discuss on ooVoo

Napoleon Hill has been a great influence to the founder of Clad Nine & Nairobi Wear, he is the driving force behind the brands- it's what he stands for that is so powerful to us. Funny that an old white guy could be the driving force behind to powerful Urban Fashion Clothing Brands- like we always say...anything is possible.

But is there a formula for success that anyone can follow to be successful in their life and work, and achieve their goals and dreams?

That’s the question Napoleon Hill famously decided to answer. In the early 1900’s, acting on the suggestion of Andrew Carnegie, Hill interviewed 500 wealthy and successful people, many of them millionaires, to see if he could determine what, if anything, they had in common.

You might recognize the names of some of the people he interviewed. Many were the most famous people of his time, including Thomas Edison, George Eastman, Alexander Graham Bell, Elmer Gates, Henry Ford, John D. Rockefeller, Charles M. Schwab, William Wrigley Jr., F. W. Woolworth, William Jennings Bryan, Theodore Roosevelt, William H. Taft, Woodrow Wilson and Jennings Randolph.

After years of interviews, research and learning from the most wealthy and successful people of America and the world, Napoleon Hill boiled down their experiences, and the reason for their success, to a simple Formula for Success.

Here it is:

Napoleon Hill’s Formula for Success

  • You must have a specific goal.
  • You must have a specific time to achieve your goal.
  • You must write it down.
  • You must develop a plan to achieve your goal.
  • You must decide what kind of price you’re willing to pay.
  • You must think about reaching your goal every day.

Have you ever observed this formula at work in your own life, whether you really understood it at the time or not?  I know I have.  Whenever I’ve followed these principles, I’ve had greater success in achieving my goals.  And when I didn’t follow them, I lost sight of my goal and got frustrated.

Somehow, there’s great power in clarifying exactly what you want, when you want it, and knowing what price you’re willing to pay to get it.  And there’s power in writing it down and developing a plan to achieve it.

When I’m muddy about what I want, when I don’t write it down or make a plan to achieve it, and when I don’t think about it every day, the goal gets forgotten.  When I don’t decide what price I’m willing to pay, I get stressed-out, and life gets out of balance.

The Mercedes-Benz BIOME concept car

Discuss on ooVoo

The Los Angeles Design Challenge always brings some crazy idea, but this year one in particular caught our attention: The Mercedes-Benz BIOME concept car. It's an eco-friendly, biodegradable, ultra-light hybrid vehicle—which would be custom grown in a lab.

The folks behind the concept explain that the various parts of the vehicle would be grown separately:

The interior of the BIOME grows from the DNA in the Mercedes star on the front of the vehicle, while the exterior grows from the star on the rear. To accommodate specific customer requirements, the Mercedes star is genetically engineered in each case, and the vehicle grows when the genetic code is combined with the seed capsule. The wheels are grown from four separate seeds.
And apparently instead of running on regular fuel, the BIOME would run on a mysterious substance called "BioNectar4534" which leaves no by-product other than oxygen.

Yes, it's an insane idea and sounds damn near impossible. But that won't stop any of us from daydreaming about zipping around in a sleek, lab-grown car, now will it?

Christina Milian

Discuss on ooVoo

Christina Milian (born Christine Flores on September 26, 1981) is a two time Grammy Award-nominated American singer and actress. She has had four solo top ten singles (and also a top ten featuring credit single) in the UK as well as hits in the rest of Europe and the U.S. She has starred in the 2003 film Love Don't Cost a Thing opposite Nick Cannon and Be Cool, the sequel to Get Shorty.

Date of Birth: September 26, 1981

Birthplace: New Jersey USA

Early life
Milian was born in Jersey City, New Jersey to Afro-Cuban immigrant parents, Carmen and Don, and has two younger sisters, Danielle and Elizabeth. Her family moved to Waldorf, Maryland soon after her birth and she set her heart on an entertainment career at the age of four. Milian did commercials (Wendy's, Honeycombs) and played the lead role in the musical Annie before moving to Los Angeles, California at 13 to pursue an acting career; Her father didn't move with the rest her family and divorced her mother soon after. Her mother is now her manager.

Acting career
Milian's first significant role was as a reporter on the Disney Channel's Movie Surfers show in 1998 billed as Tina Flores. While in this role, she also appeared in minor roles in the movies A Bug's Life and American Pie and in guest appearances on the television series Charmed, Clueless, Get Real, and The Amanda Show.

In 2002, Milian was appointed to host of the television show Wannabes on MTV. She met director Joseph Kahn on an episode of Wannabes who suggested she audition for a lead role in the film Torque opposite Ice Cube. Her audition was successful leading in turn to a lead role in Love Don't Cost a Thing in 2003. In 2005, she had roles in the films Man of the House opposite Tommy Lee Jones and Be Cool with John Travolta and Uma Thurman.

Music career
It's About Time (2004) In 2000, Milian performed vocals on Ja Rule's song Between Me and You from his album Rule. The song became a hit building her reputation as a singer. She also co-wrote and provided extensive backing vocals for the track "Play" for Jennifer Lopez's 2001 album J. Lo which became another big hit, and co-wrote "Same Ol' Same Ol", the first single from girl group PYT's album Down With Me.

In 2001, Milian released her first solo single, "AM To PM", off her self-titled debut album. It became a worldwide hit reaching the top 5 in the UK and Denmark, top 10 in the Netherlands, and top 40 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and in Australia. The success of "AM To PM" sparked the international release of the Christina Milian album, although not in the U.S. The second single "When You Look At Me" was another international hit reaching the top 5 in the UK, Netherlands, and Ireland and making the top 40 in Denmark, Australia, and France. She was also featured on the track "It's All Gravy", a duet with Romeo of the garage group So Solid Crew. It was another UK top ten hit single in 2002. She also wrote and sang the theme song for the Disney series Kim Possible, "Call Me Beep Me" later that year.

So Amazin (2006) In 2003, Milian recorded songs for her first U.S. album, It's About Time, which is a reference to how long it had taken for one of her albums to be released in the U.S. The first single, "Dip It Low", was written by Polli Paul, who has also written songs for the Black Eyed Peas. The first single reached #1 on a world composite dance chart (compiled on data from the U.S., UK, Germany, Japan, Italy, and Australia), #2 in the UK, #5 in the U.S., and the top 40 in Australia. The second single, "Whatever U Want", features Joe Budden and once again reached the top 10 in the UK as well as charting on the Billboard Hot 100. Controversy occurred when Milian changed her look when the album was released. Many people saw it as her trying to look more like Beyoncé Knowles who had a similar look. All of this has been looked at as a coincedence by Milian.

Her third album So Amazin' is scheduled for a May release. The entire production was done by Cool & Dre, with additional help from Rich Harrison. The record's first single Say I has been released in March as a single and video; it features Young Jeezy. The single currently is on his latest mixtape, "Can't Ban the Snowman, and is having success within the mixtape scene causing many DJ's to place it on their compilations too ("Southern Smoke"). Two confirmed tracks,Gonna Tell Everybody and Who's Gonna Ride featuring Three 6 Mafiaand Lil Wayne will appear on her third album So Amazin'. According to MTV, Christina recored a track dissing her ex-boyfriend. It was due to the reason they broke up. Nick says even though the track was recorded, he still considers being her friend.

Personal life
In the summer of 2005, Milian broke up with actor Nick Cannon after being together for nearly two & a half years. In an interview with Angie Martinez, she spoke about how she found out about Cannon cheating on her. Apparently while she was away filming a movie in Romania, she attempted to log in to his T-Mobile.com account by entering in random passwords. After lucking out with one of the passwords, she was able to read all of the messages he sent out and received to and from other women. When she returned back to the states, she decided to play it cool before hitting him with the news that she knew he was cheating.

Weeks after their break up, Milian was spotted with actor Eric West during New York's Olympus Fashion Week leading to many claims that the two are dating. Eric confirmed on American radio station Y100 that the two are just friends. The New York Daily News claims she is now dating hip-hop producer Dre.
